Yeah GW is very different to Oblivion and Morrowind, GW is very action pack for one thing. And "You'll never fight alone" is pretty much sum up everything. As far as online game goes I can't really think of anything that have the same system as Oblivion or let you be by yourself, it's online for a reason. You did say Oblivion is the only rpg you have played, maybe you could try Morrowind?

The graphic may not be as good, but you can download the hi-res pack mod which make everything look more up to date. And a lot of people said that Morrowind is way better than Oblivion in term of RPG and freedom in game, which I myself agree.

well thanks taffete, comments like that encourage me to keep going - and in any case, I can't resell ( can I?) so I may as well keep going, just to get me money's worth!

Etta, I do have Morrowind, but found the characters so 'unfinished' and the overall feel so gloomy, I didn't really get into it. However, if, as you say there is a mod to improve how it looks, then I might go back to it. Several folk have said that in some respects it is superior to Oblivion. Thanks

hopefully u will stay until you hit lvl 20...because that is when the game actually begins.. as to selling your CD key. It is agaisnt the EULA to resell it and it is tied to whatever email address you used when you created your account.

Coridan, thanks for that advice about the key. I shall abide by the EULA - and maybe I will keep going

not to sound like a gaming newb (I am) but are there ANY RPG's that allow you to solo? My husband's done quite a few, and I can't recall any actual RPG's where he could solo.

hey gracietoo,

glad to hear you're going to give it another shot. I have been playing for about 9 months now, and after playing the first chapter for a couple months, ended up buying all of them. I hardly ever play with other real people, only my real life friends who also have the game. Getting used to the henchmen and heroes has a bit of a learning curve to it, but I find that they are very good in almost any area of the game. The game is definately RPG lite, and very action packed. I find it most closely resembling Diablo and Diablo II, which is one of the reasons I bought it because I got so much enjoyment out of those games. I find all the various classes are fun to play and each has their own unique challenges. At the moment my favourite characters out of my 8 are my necromancer, paragon and assassin.

Once you finish the tutorial area, I'm sure you will start to feel more in control of your actions as you can go almost anywhere you want, but to progress farther into the game, you need to complete primary quests and missions. Doing these will open up more of the map for you to adventure in and take you farther into the storyline. Elona has some really beautiful scenery, and I do find myself just stopping to look some cool looking landscapes. Also, if you decide you want to keep the game and continue to play it, you can purchase the other chapters and travel between the continents, completing quests and missions in Tyria (Chapter 1: Prophecies) and Cantha (Chapter 2: Factions). Just make sure to link any new chapters to your current account rather than making a new one. Once you link or create a new account with a CD-Key, it cannot be undone.
